Purpose of the Role
As an Internal Sales Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the Sales Team by managing internal processes, preparing technical quotations, and assisting in the development of sustainable customer relationships. You will work closely with both customers and colleagues to ensure professional, high-quality service that contributes to the continued growth and profitability of the UK region.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Sales Support
Prepare and manage technical quotations and commercial offers.
Support Sales Engineers by developing detailed technical solutions based on Lenze’s system architecture.
Verify product information, pricing, and discounts, ensuring accurate documentation and offer generation.
Monitor order progress and maintain customer communication regarding lead times and delivery schedules.
Enter and maintain customer and opportunity data in ERP and CRM systems.
Coordinate with internal departments to effectively fulfil customer requirements.
Assist in report creation, contract management, and regular correspondence.
Customer Interaction & Project Support
Proactively support External Sales Engineers during key account visits when required.
Record and manage customer feedback, requirements, and project specifications.
Assist in lead generation and qualification, contributing to pipeline development.
Participate in progress meetings and provide updates on project milestones and customer interactions.
Technical Assistance
Provide technical input and support to the Sales Team.
Help design and propose solutions tailored to customer applications.
Identify high-risk projects and gather relevant information to support decision-making.
Team Collaboration & General Responsibilities
Actively contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture.
Step in to support colleagues during absence or peak workload periods.
Ensure all activities align with Company’s Mission, Vision, and Quality Standards.
Uphold high levels of professionalism and customer satisfaction in every interaction.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Technical degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or a related discipline.
Proven interest or experience in sales or customer-facing roles within an engineering/technical environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with ERP and CRM systems (e.g., SAP, Salesforce) is an advantage.
Excellent administrative, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality.
Team-oriented, customer-focused, and commercially aware.
Self-motivated, target-driven, and capable of working to deadlines.
