Purpose of the Role

As an Account Manager, you will lead strategic customer relationships across major industrial accounts, aligning customer needs with the company’s automation portfolio. You will expand commercial footprint, open new relationships, and drive value through tailored automation solutions. This role combines consultative selling, strategic planning, and multi-level customer engagement across complex industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Account Leadership

  • Develop and execute a regional account coverage strategy.

  • Define account objectives, growth targets, and KPIs.

  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional account teams.

Business Planning & Growth

  • Create structured business plans for assigned accounts.

  • Identify and drive new opportunities across the automation portfolio.

  • Provide market and competitive insights to internal stakeholders.

Customer Engagement

  • Build multi-level relationships across Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Maintenance.

  • Act as a trusted advisor, aligning customer priorities with automation solutions.

  • Lead proposal development, presentations, and negotiations.

Sales Performance & Governance

  • Lead pipeline development, forecasting, and sales governance.

  • Conduct regular account reviews and ensure CRM accuracy.

  • Ensure proper contract administration and process adherence.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).

Experience

  • 5+ years in industrial automation sales.

  • Experience with SCADA, DCS, SIS, PLCs, and process instrumentation.

  • Strong knowledge of continuous and discrete manufacturing environments.

  • Familiarity with customer groups in refining, petrochemicals, oil & gas, and power.

Competencies

  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to lead complex sales cycles.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Highly organized with strong initiative and customer focus.

  • Based in or willing to work within California.
