Role Overview
The Account Manager – Drives & Automation will focus on expanding the customer base, nurturing strategic accounts, and delivering customer-focused solutions aligned with the company’s innovation-driven portfolio.
This role will proactively identify, engage, and convert new business opportunities into long-term partnerships that drive commercial growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Development
Develop and implement account strategies aligned with company growth targets
Identify and prioritize new market opportunities and potential customers, particularly within OEM sectors
Build business cases and ROI-driven proposals for new opportunities
Conduct market research to track trends, competitors, and differentiation opportunities
Customer Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at prospective and existing customers
Understand customer challenges and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver tailored solutions
Act as a trusted advisor throughout the full sales lifecycle
Sales Execution
Manage the complete sales cycle from prospecting through closing and onboarding
Develop and present proposals, quotations, and customer presentations
Negotiate contracts in collaboration with internal sales and legal teams
Internal Collaboration
Work closely with Inside Sales Engineers, Product Managers, and Marketing teams
Track opportunities and activities in CRM and ERP systems
Provide regular reports, forecasts, and updates to the Sales Director and wider team
Strategic Projects
Lead or support strategic sales initiatives and customer-specific projects
Participate in Go / No-Go evaluations for high-impact opportunities
Industry Events & Networking
Represent the company at trade shows and industry exhibitions
Build connections and increase market visibility through networking and events
Requirements
Qualifications
Engineering-related education or equivalent industry experience
Industry Experience
Proven track record in sales within Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or a related technical sector
Experience working with OEMs and system integrators preferred
Skills & Competencies
Strong experience in industrial automation and motion control drive technology
Strategic mindset with strong business acumen
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken)
Comfortable managing complex solution sales cycles with multiple stakeholders
Ability to work effectively in hybrid environments (remote and in-person)
