Role Overview

The Account Manager – Drives & Automation will focus on expanding the customer base, nurturing strategic accounts, and delivering customer-focused solutions aligned with the company’s innovation-driven portfolio.

This role will proactively identify, engage, and convert new business opportunities into long-term partnerships that drive commercial growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Development

  • Develop and implement account strategies aligned with company growth targets

  • Identify and prioritize new market opportunities and potential customers, particularly within OEM sectors

  • Build business cases and ROI-driven proposals for new opportunities

  • Conduct market research to track trends, competitors, and differentiation opportunities

Customer Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at prospective and existing customers

  • Understand customer challenges and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver tailored solutions

  • Act as a trusted advisor throughout the full sales lifecycle

Sales Execution

  • Manage the complete sales cycle from prospecting through closing and onboarding

  • Develop and present proposals, quotations, and customer presentations

  • Negotiate contracts in collaboration with internal sales and legal teams

Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with Inside Sales Engineers, Product Managers, and Marketing teams

  • Track opportunities and activities in CRM and ERP systems

  • Provide regular reports, forecasts, and updates to the Sales Director and wider team

Strategic Projects

  • Lead or support strategic sales initiatives and customer-specific projects

  • Participate in Go / No-Go evaluations for high-impact opportunities

Industry Events & Networking

  • Represent the company at trade shows and industry exhibitions

  • Build connections and increase market visibility through networking and events

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Engineering-related education or equivalent industry experience

Industry Experience

  • Proven track record in sales within Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or a related technical sector

  • Experience working with OEMs and system integrators preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong experience in industrial automation and motion control drive technology

  • Strategic mindset with strong business acumen

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

  • Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken)

  • Comfortable managing complex solution sales cycles with multiple stakeholders

  • Ability to work effectively in hybrid environments (remote and in-person)
